I am sorry I have been off of here for a month but I was working as many as 76 hours a week. Life is back to normal, for me. So a daily Prayer Connection should be possible.
Hymn of the day:
Words & Music: James M. Black, 1893 (MIDI, score). Black, a Methodist Sunday school teacher in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, was calling roll one day for a youth meeting. Young Bessie, daughter of a drunkard, did not show up, and he was disappointed at her failure to appear. Black made a comment to the effect, “Well, I trust when the roll is called up yonder, she’ll be there.” He tried to respond with an appropriate song, but could not find one in his song book:
This lack of a fitting song caused me both sorrow and disappointment. An inner voice seemed to say, “Why don’t you write one?” I put away the thought. As I opened the gate on my way home, the same thought came again so strongly that tears filled my eyes. I entered the house and sat down at the piano. The words came to me effortlessly…The tune came the same way—I dared not change a single note or word.
This song was sung in the Academy award winning movie Sergeant York (1941).

When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound, and time shall be no more,
And the morning breaks, eternal, bright and fair;
When the saved of earth shall gather over on the other shore,
And the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.
Refrain
When the roll, is called up yon-der,
When the roll, is called up yon-der,
When the roll, is called up yon-der,
When the roll is called up yonder I’ll be there.
On that bright and cloudless morning when the dead in Christ shall rise,
And the glory of His resurrection share;
When His chosen ones shall gather to their home beyond the skies,
And the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.
Refrain
Let us labor for the Master from the dawn till setting sun,
Let us talk of all His wondrous love and care;
Then when all of life is over, and our work on earth is done,
And the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.
Refrain
I hope when the roll up yonder is called...you will be there...will you? If you don't know our Lord and would like to email me and we can walk together as you make that life changing decision.
Dear Sweet Jesus,
I call out in Your name to reach out and save all those sitting on the fence. Heaven has no limit to the number who may enter...we only have to believe. I am reminded of the saying " the more the merrier" and won't it be merry? Singing and praising the Father and being able to dance before You. Be still my heart, I so long for that day when I can see You face to face.
Lord, You know of the friends who lost their jobs this week. I pray for them that You will provide just the right job for them. Ease any fears they may have and give them a sense of peace.
Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice, for You are in the Heavens and all is right with the world. Let us rest in that.
Your little girl, forever,
Penny
